Education at California State University Channel Islands. She holds an
M.A. in Education with an emphasis in child and adolescent development
and a B.A. in Spanish

the decade of her work with families and children at risk or with disabilities
in early intervention settings.
Dr. Denney’s research focuses on families and children in relation
to issues of child development and disability; parental stress and coping;
and linguistic minority and immigration status. She conducts her research
with traditionally understudied populations including, Latino families
and their young children with disabilities, and young children at risk
for abuse and neglect. A second area of research that Dr. Denney pursues
is the development, application, and evaluation of problem-based pedagogy
for professional education.
